Skiatook Lake hybrid fishing !0/22/2014

What a day with 3 fine fisherman. Had a trip out on Skiatook Lake last Wednesday with Tom, Kristen and Russ. Now Russ has been with me 3 times now and they all have been terrific trips with plenty of fish and this trip was no different. A total of 37 fish in 4 hours. The bigger fish came towards the end of the trip. Nothing big this time but a lot of fish with attitude. It could of not been a better day weather wise to be on the water. Check out my face book page for more pictures of this trip.

Skiatook Lake Hybrid Fishing 10/12/14

Had the Virgil Phillips family out on Skiatook Lake Saturday and once again they did a great job of putting fishing in the boat. They have been out with me 3 other times and they were all great trips. Now on this one it took a little time to zero in on them but when we did, they did what they always do and that's put fish in the boat. We really didn't catch any big ones. The biggest probably hit the 3lb. weight. They ended up with 29 hybrids (wipers). Great trip and a whole lot of fishing fun. All fish were caught in 18 to 22 feet of fun.

Birch Lake Hybrid Fishing 9/28/2014

Had a great trip out with Marie Sweet and her family. We went to Birch Lake in search of some hybrids. It took a little time to figure them out but we did. We started catching them on free lines with no weight casted away from the boat. At the end of the trip they had put 10 hybrids in the boat that went 3 to 6 lbs., 1 flathead that went around 15lbs. 1 channel cat and 2 sand bass. It was a great day weather wise to share with a good family

Skiatook Lake Hybrids(wipers) 9/13/2014

Had a 3 hour trip on Skiatook Lake last Saturday with Robert and his family. Now one thing I can honestly say is they know how to put fish over the side of the boat. They caught a 4 man limit (20) and made it look easy. We had a lot of laughs along with a few misses. This was a great fun time even for the guide. We caught all of our fish in 20 ft. of water with live shad. It took a little chumming to get them started and then the bite was steady with a double mixed in ever now and then. Thanks Robert it was fun. Check out more previous fishing pictures on my face book page.

Keystone Laake Striper 9/17/2014

Had a trip to Keystone Lake for a evening sand bass and striper trip and was a good one We caught around 40 sand bass and 20 stripers from 2 to 7 lbs., The stripers did not move in until dark. It was kind of neat to here them swirl the water around you, We where fishing in 3 to 4 feet of water with swim baits. This picture is a little blurry but this fish weighed around 6 lbs. Now until the middle of November will be great fishing for the stripers and sand bass

Keystone Lake Striper Fishing 9/7/14

Had 3 guys out on Keystone Lake Sunday for a early morning top water bite for some stripers. We hit the water around 5:30 am and made a drive to the spot and anchored up in 4 ft. of water. After about 15 minutes we started to see the stripes splashing along the bank. We ended up with 4 keepers out of that bunch. The top water bite turned off after about 45 minutes so we went looking down the lake for some more. Found a spot that looked like it wound hold a few and down went the baits. We caught a couple more and then we moved around with the trolling motor and put some more in the boat. At the end of the day we had 9 stripers and  couple of nice blues. The biggest striper went around 8 lbs. A perfect day weather wise to be on the water.

Hybrid (wipers) Birch Lake 9/5/14

Fished Birch Lake on Friday and had a decent day. It took a little bit to find some willing fish but when we did it was on. It wasn't a fast bite but it was steady. They ended up with 12 hybrids and 2 decent catfish. The hybrids went in the range of 3 to 4 lbs. Great day to be on the water . Not to hot and not to cold.

Birch Lake Hybrid Fishing 8/30/14

Took a scouting trip to Birch Lake this Saturday and did really decent. It took a little while to find them but when we did it was on. We found them in 22 ft. of water and for the next 2 hours we had fish coming over the side of the boat. Great time with good friends and what made it really good was I got to fish for a change.

Skiatook Lake Hybrid Fishing 8/29/14

Man what a trip we had on Skiatook Lake. I had a 5 person trip and these guys knew how to put fish in the boat. We found the fish in 33 ft. of water but it took a lot of chum in the water to get them started. Man when they turned on we had rods bowed over for 3 hours straight. They ended up with around 40 hybrids and 7 or 8 catfish. The weather was great and the fishing was on fire.

Keystone Lake Striper Fishing

We had a great trip last Thursday on Keystone Lake fishing for stripers. Danielle and her brother had never caught stripers before. It took a little time to locate some willing takers but we found them. They caught only 4 stripers with the biggest around 7 lbs. It was a fun trip with great people.

Keystone Lake striper fishing 8/17/14

Went on a scouting trip with Dave Clark from Fish on Guide Service to Keystone to look for a few stripers. We didn't catch many but we did catch this 12 lber. We went over a large school of fish and ever rod in the boat went down and we managed only one fish. But it was a good one. Go to my face book page and see what a school of fish look like on a locator.

Keystone striper fishing 8/14/14

Man what a fishing trip! I had the pleasure of taking out Michael,Russ and Austin out for some striper fishing on Keystone Lake and did they ever get the job done. Our biggest striper weighed in at 10lb. along with a hybrid at the same weight. They ended up with a total of 11 fish. We got on these fish in 14 ft. of water and it was on. There were a couple of times when we had doubles on. This was the first time they have ever fished for stripers and I do believe they are hooked. The fish did not appear until around 7 pm and the screen just lit up with arches. I use all live bait and they just double the rods in the water when these big fish hit. Now there is one picture I did not post and you can see it on my face book page. This fish is bigger then the 10 lb. hybrid. My mistake was I did not take and have it weighed in. I know the lake record for a hybrid is 11.5 lbs. and I do believe this one would have been really close. Check it out on my face book page to see Austin holding his large hybrid.

Skiatook Lake 8/4/14

Had a evening trip with the Gloss family. Kevin and Sheri and their 2 boys Dallas and Weston. They have never fished for hybrids before but it did not take them long to get the hang of it. The first stop yielded 3 or 4 fish. It was way to slow so off we went looking and we found them in 33 feet of water along the river channel. It didn't take long and it was on. I think all 3 of them had fish coming over the side of the boat. At the end of the day they had boated 20 fish with the biggest in the 5 lb. range. You couldn't of asked for a better day to fish and to top it off was a great view of a wonderful sunset.

Striper fishing on Keystone Lake 7/24/14

Had a really good trip last Friday with Trey. He brought a couple of the in-laws along with him. We got bait caught and looked a few places with no luck. As the evening went on the wind started to die down a little and we got on Some good fish. We ended up with 9 stripers and 2 blues. We caught all fish on live bait and man did they ever double the rods up when they hit. We broke a few off and we missed our share also. Super great day on the water with really good fisherman. Go to my face book and see more pictures from this trip.

Skiatook Lake 7/20/14

I had a trip to Skiatook Lake this morning with Lee Ringer, his son and dad. We set out around 6 am and got set up on some scattered fish. The bite was really slow and we were pecking away at them one at a time. I made a switch and we went looking for a better bite with out no luck. It was a great day to be on the with good company. We ended the day with 10 fish with a lot of hopes of finding the jack pot. Here is a picture of Lee s son with the catch.

Keystone Lake Striper Fishing 7/20/14

What a great day on Keystone Lake striper fishing. Mike Gottsch had some old high school bubbies come down from Nebraska to catch up on old times and do a little fishing. We met up at the boat ramp, loaded up and we were off. We tried here and there and we finally zeroed in on them. We started putting a few in the boat and we lost our share due to some breaking off and some just coming off. At the end of the day we put 8 stripers in the boat along with 3 blues. The biggest striper weighed in at 13 lbs. and most of the others went from 5 to 8 lbs. Great day, great. group.

Skiatook Lake 7/14/14

I had a fun trip out with Knox Fail and his dad Blake. We had a evening trip and a 4 pm start. We tried a couple a places and really didn't have much luck. I decided to try a spot that has been fairly good in the evenings and when I went over it, the locator lit up. We got set up on them and Knox and his dad started wacking them. There where many times that they had doubles on. I must say that Knox did out fish his dad by a few fish. It did not take Knox long to figure out how it was done and then there was no catching up. This was a great father and son trip and some really good people. I think we ended up with 21 hybrids ( wipers ) for the day with the biggest at 3.5 lbs.

Keystone Lake 7/12/14

Butch Cross and myself made a early morning trip to Keystone last Saturday looking for some stripers. We made a mad dash to were I have been catching them and it wasn't to long before it was game on. The first fish came over the side of the boat and went right around 8 lbs. Between Butch and I we caught 10 stripers and 1 really nice hybrid. The stripers went any where from 6 to 9 lbs. The hybrid weighed in at around 10 lbs. All of these fish where caught with live bait and they buried the rods in the water went they hit. This bite wont last forever. As long as they are releasing water the bite will continue.

Keystone Lake 6/24/14

Made a trip yesterday to Keystone Lake with good friend Ralph Gillean. We splashed the boat at Pier 51 and the adventure begun. I went to a spot that I had be wanting to try for a couple of weeks. We didn't see much at first so I put the trolling motor down and started to slowly move the boat. We put down lines out and we hadn't gone 50 yards and bam, down went a rod and we landed a good healthy 6 lb.striper. Shortly after putting that one in the box we had 2 more coming over the side of the boat with Ralph pulling in a good 11lber. We ended up catching 20 stripers. Here are some pictures of a very fun trip. Check out my face book page for more pictures.

Skiatook Lake 6/22/14

Had a morning trip on Skiatook Saturday morning and it was a little tougher then I had expected. We got a 7 am start and headed to a place that has been producing some decent hybrids/wipers lately and it dried up. Yep we caught 5 fish there and they where a little on the small side so about 8:30 we where off and looking. We stopped at a couple of places but struck out until the last spot. The screen lit up with a large school of fish below us and we could hardly get the baits to the bottom. We put several fish in the boat with the down lines and then finished out the rest of there limit with free lines. You couldn't ask for a better day to fish. Not to much wind and a cloud ever now and then. The water temp was 80 degrees. These fish have definitely settle into there summer patterns. We ended the day with 20 hybrids/wipers,4 sand bass and  1 blue.

Skiatook Lake 6/16/2014

Had a great trip Monday evening with these two guys. We got started around 3 pm and man was it windy. It had to be blowing at least 25 to 30 mph. We found a place out of the wind that wasn't to too bad. Put some down lines in the water and throw out a couple of free lines and it was on. It wasn't fast and furious but steady. At the end of the day we kept out limit and threw the about 5 more back to play another day. These fish where caught in 24 t0 28 ft. of water and the water temp was 78 degrees

Skiatook Lake 6/11/14

Really had to work for them today. I had 3 guys in my boat today. One from Florida and two from Oklahoma. The bite wasn't as fast as it has been in previous weeks but we still managed to put 32 in the boat. The big fish for the day went around 4 1/2 lbs. Most of the fish we caught today were in 33 to 41 ft. of water. I must say that this was the calmest day I have fished all year. We kind of had to chase the fish today. We would fine a small school and catch 3 or 4 out of it and then we would have to move a little and we would fine them again. All and all it wasn't to bad of a day. These 3 guys didn't miss many fish. Thanks for a fun trip. See a extra action picture on my face book page

Skiatook Lake 6/7/14

Had a trip out last Saturday with Rick and Jason. It started out a little slower then normal and never did really pick up, We did manage to put 40 fish over the side of the boat with the biggest coming in at about 5 lbs. We had to chase the fish around a little to keep the bite going The day was great weather wise and good company on top of that. Check out the cooler of fish on my face book page.

Skiatook Lake 5/31/14

Had a family of 4 out and I must say that the kids showed mom and dad how it is was done. We splashed the boat at 7 am Saturday morning and made a short run and it begun. Lines in the water with hungry fish below us. We caught about 6 on this stop and then it played out and off we went looking. Now this stop we where fishing in about 40 ft. of water and these fish had some attitude. Worked on this group of fish for a little over 1 hour and then it died out. So once again we went looking and found another group that was willing to give us a fight. There where times thru out the day that the bite was so fast that I had a hard time keeping up with baiting the lines. We ended up with over 60 fish for the day with biggest running around 5 lbs. Enjoy the pictures. I think the action shots of the kids are awesome. This was a really fun trip with a fun family. Thanks guys

Had a great trip with some really great people. David decided to take his son and his sons girl friend on a hybrid ( wipers ) trip. We met up at 4 in the afternoon loaded up in the boat and we were off. First stop started good with fish coming over the side of the boat immediately. That bite died out after about 1 hour so off we went looking and man did we ever get into them. We got set up on the 2nd spot and it was game on. At the end of the trip we had put over 30 fish in the boat. The biggest went about 5 lbs. Now the young lady in the picture had never fished before but by the end of the trip she had it down pat. It was a fun trip with good people.

Skiatook Lake Afternoon trip 5/7/2014

Had a afternoon trip and it did just as well as the morning trip. I do believe they had the windiest part of the day. Man did the wind ever blow. That did no stop Chad and his son Cade from putting fish in the boat. Another 30 plus fish day. Check out my face book page and see Cade doing battle with a brute hybrid.

Skiatook Lake 5/72014

Had a great morning trip with James St. Clair and Frank Hix. Started the morning at 6:30 am. Loaded up and headed up the  lake. Stopped at a spot where the fish have been for the last 2 weeks. Trolling motor down and lines in the water and the magic took place. Lines started to bow over and the battle begun. It did not take long to get a limit of fightsy hybrids. We had some in 4 to 5 lb. range and ended the day with around 30 fish.

Skiatook Lake What a day 5/3/14

Another great day at Skiatook Lake. A great 50 fish hybrid/wiper day with the Jon Harmon group. We got a 6:30 am start and headed up the lake to our first stop. Didn't see a whole lot of fish activity but was defiantly going to give it a try. It has been giving up some big fish and a lot of them and today was not any different. They had fish coming over the side of the boat within 20 minutes of the lines being in the water. Most of our fish on this spot came off free lines. They limited out in about 2 1/2 hours. We hit our final spot of the day after a call from a friend on the lake ( Butch Cross) that they couldn't keep the baits in the water and sure enough they put another 25 fish in over the side. These where all released to fight another day. Be sure to check out my face book page for some more pictures.
