Sooner Lake Nov. 21st
Dave Clark (Fishon Guide Service) and myself got a invite from a good friend Butch Cross to go chase some hybrids (wipers) on Sooner Lake. Now when 2 guides get a invite to go fishing we are all over it. We met Butch at 7 am and we where off to Keystone to get bait. We arrived at Sooner about 9 am and we where off. Our first stop on the warm water side didnt yield much . A couple of blues and a couple of hybrids. We made a move to the cold side and found fish in 28 to 30 ft. of water. We stayed there the entire day. The fishing started out a little slow but seemed to pick up as the day went on . We did have a couple of doubles and I do remember one time we were all hooked up. We didnt keep count of how many we caught but some where around 40 to50 would not be to far off. Here is a action shot of Butch putting one in the boat. It was a super day to be on the water.

Sooner Lake Nov. 3rd 2012
Had the pleasure of taking the Jenks family out again. Just like last time it was a catching trip. Our first 2 stops didnt yield a single fish. On the 3rd stop, we started putting fish in the boat right away. Ruth ( who is in her 80s ) laid into a dandy striper. This fish would probably push 5 to 6 lbs. She sure put a show on for those younger ones. We caught around 20 fish at this stop and it finally died out. After a quik bathroom run we were headed back out to look for some more willing biters. Guess what ? We found them at the last minute. We baited lines up and down they went. They barely had time to set them in the rod holders when they started to bend over. I got real busy for about 45 minutes with netting fish and baiting hooks. I must say that Miss Ruth probably did catch the most fish that day. The bite slowed up for us but not before we put another 20 fish on ice. The total count for the day was 40 hybrids ( wipers ), 1 real nice striper and about a 4 lb. channel cat. Thanks ladies for a great day.

Sooner Lake Oct. 27th
Had a chance to take Bruce Smith and Rob Koch fishing Saturday the 27th. It started out a little slow, but we finally found them in 28 ft. of water. We had doubles and several triples. We caught some stripers in 4 to 6 lb. range and around 40 to 50 hybrids ( wipers ).
The best catch of the day was when Rob had a fish yank the rod completely out of the rod holder and we caught the rod about an hour later. That bite finally died out after about 2 hours so we made a move to the other side of the lake. We found some very willing hybrids( wipers ) and it was game on again.
Before we called it quits, I took this picture of my locator. I can defintly say that we had plenty of action below us.

Sooner Lake Hybrid Fishing Oct. 20 , 2012
I had the pleasure of fishing with Justin Beto and his father - in- law Gary . We decided to head to Sooner Lake in search of some hybrids and it got wild for awhile. We had about 2 hours of a good and steady bite. When we got to the lake, there was about a 15 mph wind out of the east. Then, about 2 hours into it, the wind shifted from out of the south and the bite died quickly. Justin and Gary put 28 fish in the boat and they decided to call it a day. It could not have been a more perfect day to be on the water. The weather was great.

Catfishing on Keystone Lake Oct.14 2012
Took a trip with Stacey Callahan out on Keystone Lake for some blues. It wasnt as good as last Friday but we still caught 6 nice catfish.1 around 20lbs.,12lbs and the rest were in the 3 to 5 lb. range. Most fish where caught in 8 to 15 ft. of water. It was a great day to be on the water and there is never a bad day to fish. The fishing for blues is going to do nothing but get better.
Friday, October 12, 2012
Decided to take the afternoon off and go in search for some blues on Keystone Lake. Took a good friend of mine Mark Morris. We splashed the boat around 1 pm, caught bait and we were off and running. First stop yielded a couple of 3 lbers. into the boat. We got tired of playing the waiting game and decided to make a move.We stopped the boat in 8 to 10 feet of water, baited up and it was just a few minutes when Mark had one coming in over the side. We waited there for about 3 hours mainly because we were to lazy to pull the anchors and move. The biggest was about 15 lbs. We had a few in 4 to 6 lb. range. When we had finished we had 12 blues to send home with Mark. One nice thing about fishing with a friend is that I didnt have to clean any fish. It was a pleasure fishing with you today Mark and we will do it again soon

Now this was 3 generations that I had in the boat .The oldest being 94 years young,.Trust me this man still could keep up with the 2 younger ones. We ended up catching 11 hybrids and all of them came on free lines in 20 to 30 ft. of water. It was a great day to be on the water with good company.

Sept. 21st. Fishing with the grand kids
The wife and I hitched up the camper and went to Skiatook Lake this past Thursday. The grandkids came out Friday night and we had enough daylight left to get them into some hybrid action. Life- jackets on and off we go. Stopped on some decent looking fish activity and put out some down lines and free lines. It wasn't but a few minutes and the first fish was on with Landon ( who is 5 ) doing battle with a little help from papa. As soon as that fish hit the boat, Kylie ( who is 9 ) had one. It took a few minutes of her doing battle to figure out who was going to win, but she finally got the fish close enough for me to scoop it out of the water. This went on for about an hour and then the cleaning started. It was a great time for my wife and I to spend time with our grandkids. For me this is what life is all about. I do have another grandkid Zach who is 2 and he is going to have a little sister in the real near future. I can't wait to be able to do it all over again with Zach and his little sister.
Skiatook Lake Sept 22
Had a chance to fish with a good friend of mine, John Giessler, out on Skiatook Lake. We splashed the boat at 7am and we were off and running. On our first stop, John started putting fish in the boat. He caught round 10 and then the screen went blank. We headed on down the lake and found some fish in 30 ft. of water and John, once again started to put fish in the boat. When that spot ran dry we made one more stop and started catching fish right away. John finished his limit out and with time left on the clock we went looking for some catfish. Found some in 40 ft. of water and he put 13 in the boat that ran around 2 to 4 pounds. It was a great day to be out fishing with a good friend.

Sooner Lake Sept. 12th
I had the pleasure to take Dave and Sherry Kielhorn fishing on Sooner Lake today. It wasnt a real bad day, but it wasnt by far the best day I have had. We started at 7:00 am and found a decent bite in 16 to 18 ft, of water. That bite died out fairly quick but Dave and Sherry still put 7 fish in the boat. We made a run down to the dam and about the time we got there the wind really started picking up. Made a decision to run back where we had come from and found some fish in some 20 ft. of water. We caught half our fish on downlines and the other half on free lines. We finally got tired of fighting the wind and called it quits. I still ended up cleaning 20 fishing.
Sept.8th 2012 Sooner Lake
What a great fishing trip. I had the pleasure of taking 5 ladies out on a hybrid fishing trip last Saturday. We got on our first stop about 7:30 and they started putting fish in the boat right away. We started catching them in about 16 ft. of water. After about 45 minutes the bite died down and we where off and looking for our next stop. The next bunch we found in 30 ft. of water and once again they started make me work netting fish right away. We made a couple more stops and caught fish at every one of them. At the end of the day I cleaned 28 nice hybrids for them. Ladies it was a lot of fun and I look forward to seeing you in November to do all over again.

Hybrid fishing trip at Carl Blackwell
We ended up catching 21 hybrids on Carl Blackwell on 8/11/2012. Don,Dan and Dave seemed to have alot of fun at it. I think this was there first time ever fishing for hybrids. We got out on the lake about 8:30 and started putting fishing in the boat on our first stop. The biggest fish of the day was around 5lbs.and it was caught by Dan the guy in the middle. Around 11:30 the bite had died down and we picked up a few scattered catfish. It was a good day to be on the water with good company.

Fishing at Carl Blackwell
What a day on Carl Blackwell. Dave Clark and myself set out for BC Saturday August 4th. What a day we did have, We splashed the boat at 8:30 in the morning and had fish in the boat by 8:45. We caught around 30 hybrids in 2 to 4 lb. range,1 in the 6lb. rangeand than this 12lb. brute. I think we both broke a couple of fish off. We also put 4 catfish in the boat. Moest fish where caught on down lines with live shad. The fishing can still be great even in the heat.

Sooner Lake June 13th 2012
It started out very slow on Sooner today. I couldnt hardly fine a arch on the locator. I ended up by the dam and they where pumping water into the lake. We took free lines and thru them up into 5 to 8 ft. of water and it was game on. About 3 hours later we had a 2 man limit ( 40 hybrids ). This was the first time that the guy on the right had ever fished for hybrids. I do believe he is hooked. It was perfect weather, not to hot, not cold.

May 29th trip on Skiatook
We met Lisa and her family at Tall Chief Cove. It was so windy we couldn't launch so we went around to Osage Landing. I splashed the boat and we were off and runnin! Plenty of wind so we couldn't make it down to the lower end of the lake, but we did catch a few up around Osage. The wind finally down about 7:30 P.M. and we were off and runnin to the lower end of the lake. We found large schools of fish in about 45 foot of water and it was game on! The youngest of the group landed the largest fish at 8 lbs. The rest of the fish were all 20 inches plus. The sun was setting down on us. We made a quick trip back to the boat ramp. Fun time was had by all! Thanks Lisa and family!

Sooner Lake 5/4/2012
We had a group of 4 out. It was a very enjoyable boat ride. There was no fish to be caught. I saw another guide out on the lake and he struck out at too. The fishing will get better out at Sooner as the year goes on. My next trip on Sooner lake is 5/19/2012, I will update if things have improved by then.
